From the astronomers of ancient Babylon to the philosophers of Greece and Rome, history demonstrates that scientific knowledge does not exist in isolation. Instead, it is often shaped by the sociopolitical structures of its time. Michel Foucault’s concept of "power-knowledge" highlights how systems of thought and scientific truths are constructed within the constraints of power dynamics.

In today’s landscape, this interplay is evident in the rise of technological conglomerates, where corporations like Google and Tencent wield influence over public knowledge, often rivaling state institutions.

2. Digital Giants as Gatekeepers of Knowledge

One pressing question is how governance adapts when traditional institutions like governments are increasingly sidelined by technology companies. These organizations control the flow of information through algorithms, making them arbiters of truth and behavior.

This shift introduces risks, as Laurent Alexandre argues in The War of Intelligences. Can public institutions maintain their authority in the face of this algorithmic power, or will societies drift toward a governance model dominated by private interests?

To foster a deeper understanding of scientific advancements and their societal implications, education must play a transformative role. Institutions should emphasize critical thinking, data literacy, and the ethical dimensions of technology.

Drawing on the frameworks of Foucault and other scholars, it is clear that empowering citizens with knowledge can mitigate the risks of power imbalances and foster informed decision-making.

 Chronique de la Fin du Salariat : Quand le Capitalisme de Plateforme et l’Intelligence Artificielle Redessinent le Travail

Le salariat, tel que nous le connaissons depuis plus de deux siècles, est en train de vivre une transformation profonde. Cette évolution est alimentée par trois forces principales : le capitalisme de plateforme, la richesse des réseaux, et l’essor de l’intelligence artificielle (IA). Ensemble, ces phénomènes remodèlent les fondations du travail et la relation des individus aux structures économiques.


1. Le capitalisme de plateforme : un nouveau paradigme économique

Le capitalisme de plateforme re
pose sur l’intermédiation technologique, où des entreprises comme Uber, Airbnb ou Amazon créent des écosystèmes économiques basés sur des connexions directes entre utilisateurs et fournisseurs de services. Ces plateformes réduisent drastiquement les coûts de transaction, comme l’avait anticipé Ronald Coase dans The Nature of the Firm (1937).

Dans ce modèle, les entreprises n’ont plus besoin de salariés au sens traditionnel. Elles externalisent des tâches à une multitude de micro-prestataires, remplaçant l’emploi stable par une économie de tâches (gig economy), ce qui modifie profondément la notion de sécurité professionnelle.


2. La richesse des réseaux : amplifier la désintermédiation

Albert-László Barabási, dans Linked: The New Science of Networks (2002), met en lumière le pouvoir des réseaux dans une économie de plus en plus interconnectée. Ces réseaux favorisent l’émergence de marchés décentralisés et redistribuent la valeur économique selon des logiques de popularité et de connexions.

Dans ce cadre, les plateformes exploitent cette richesse des réseaux en donnant un accès direct aux opportunités économiques, mais souvent au détriment de la stabilité et de la régulation sociale.


3. L’intelligence artificielle : automate et disruptrice

L’intelligence artificielle accélère cette transition en automatisant de nombreuses tâches autrefois réservées aux humains. Dans des domaines comme le transport, la finance ou encore la santé, des systèmes intelligents remplacent les travailleurs traditionnels.

Comme souligné dans Artificial Intelligence and Society: Transformations and Perspectives, l’IA n’est pas seulement une technologie ; elle est un catalyseur de transformation sociale, éliminant les emplois répétitifs tout en créant de nouvelles opportunités dans des secteurs plus complexes ou créatifs.

Le remplacement de l’emploi structuré par des micro-tâches ou des missions courtes, accessible via des plateformes, redéfinit les rapports au travail. Cette évolution, décrite par Mallard (Disruption: Intelligence artificielle, fin du salariat, humanité augmentée, 2018), accentue à la fois la flexibilité et la précarité.

La montée en puissance des seniors et des travailleurs indépendants, valorisant les savoir-être et les compétences relationnelles, illustre la résilience humaine face à ces bouleversements.


5. Une humanité recentrée : transmission et créativité

Hannah Arendt, dans La Condition de l’homme moderne (1958), propose une vision où la fin du travail répétitif ouvre la voie à des activités plus significatives : soin, culture, et éducation.

Dans un monde post-salariat, les interactions authentiques entre humains deviennent des piliers essentiels pour une société durable. Les initiatives comme les croisières éducatives ou les boot camps en résilience s’inscrivent parfaitement dans cette logique.


6. Perspectives : vers un Homo Sapiens augmenté

Loin d’être une menace, la fin du salariat peut être une opportunité. En nous libérant des tâches répétitives, les technologies ouvrent la voie à une redéfinition des priorités humaines. Cette transition nécessite toutefois :

  • Une régulation adaptée pour protéger les travailleurs précarisés.
  • Une éducation renouvelée, axée sur les savoir-être et la créativité.
  • Un dialogue éthique, pour garantir une transition équilibrée.

Conclusion : Et maintenant ?

La fin du salariat, bien que déstabilisante, nous invite à repenser nos systèmes économiques et sociaux. C’est une occasion unique de recentrer l’activité humaine sur ce qui compte vraiment : la transmission, l’innovation, et la solidarité.
